LITTLE PEOPLE BIG DREAMS: KATHERINE JOHNSON

Little Katherine’s favourite subject at school was maths. Because of racist laws, her family had to move town for her to go to a school where Black students were admitted. After college, she became the first Black woman to attend a top university in West Virginia. In 1953, she joined the US space agency, and went on to be part of the team that planned the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon.
